GroupLink

GroupLink is a two-hour event where you can meet and connect with others to start a Small Group. Small Groups are normally composed 10-12 adults that meet 3-4 times per month in someone’s home for fellowship, Bible Study and prayer. Small Groups are for adults of all ages, stages of life and spiritual maturity. GroupLink is a great way to get connected into a group. At GroupLink, we don’t place you into a group, you chose your own.

4 Values of Community

Bill Donahue (Willow Creek) has a great series on the values of Community life. Follow these links to check out his thoughts:

Community Life is Catalytic

Community Life is Inclusive

Community Life is Enhanced in Proximity

Community Life includes Compassion

Which of these values does your group need to work on?

Surviving the Summer

The summer is often referred to as the “graveyard for Small Groups”. This is because our lives are so different during the summer then at any other time of the year. The days are longer, the kids are out of school, the weather is hot and more and more people head out of town on vacation. These factors can make Small Group ministry an uphill battle as it becomes even MORE difficult to gather everyone together for a weekly Small Group meeting. This can leave a leader feeling frustrated and has led many to throw in the leadership towel and call it quits. Instead of fighting the summer culture, why not invite your group members into the summer fun together? Here are some activities that I have seen some of our groups doing:

  1. Take a float trip. These can be a great way for groups to spend some time together out on the river. A few of our groups at Fellowship are going on overnight float trips.
  2. Barbecue. Groups that eat together stay together! Don’t have a “normal” Small Group meeting. Grill some burgers and hot dogs and chill out with your Small Group. If you have someone in your group with a deck, this can make this night even better.
  3. Go to a Springfield Cardinal game together. Pick a Friday or Saturday night and head down to Hammons Field and catch a game with your group.
  4. Art Walk. This is a great opportunity for Small Groups to hang out on a Friday night. For details, check this out this link.
  5. Take a break from group life. If your group can’t seem to find a time when most everyone is in town at the same time this summer, then let your group take a break. Set a time when your group will reconnect. You can still connect with individuals in the group by going to dinner or a movie or having them over. At the end of the summer, everyone will be ready to start up again and you will be ready for a great fall together.

There are many things that your group can do this summer. Summer can be a great time for your group to grow relationally. Take advantage of the season and the opportunities around town. Have a great summer!!

Small Group “Testimonies”

Small Group Fiesta

We want to celebrate what God has done through Small Group community at Fellowship this year. And in honor of Cinco de Mayo, we want to put some spice into our party!

There will be live worship. We will eat together (details below) and enjoy friendships around the table. We will have some special guests with some surprises. We will be challenged by words of vision as we look to the future and all that God has for the Small Group Ministry. This is going to be an evening filled with music, humor and vision for your Small Group.

Dinner will be catered by Qdoba. The cost will be $5 per person.

If you would like to come with your Small Group, please RSVP to Becca Murdaugh before April 30.

Small Group Survey

We have created a survey in order to gather as much information as possible about the state of our ministry. These surveys are confidential so please be as honest as possible. The information gathered will be important for us as we move forward in the coming months. The survey is geared for leaders, but anyone in a Fellowship Small Group can take it.

The survey should take less than 5 minutes. Just click on the link below and answer each question. It’s pretty easy.
